Super Gamer’s first ever guest is back for a third time. Laura Intravia has toured with Video Games Live and Pokemon: Symphonic Evolutions, she’s featured on video game soundtracks, she’s now composed for a video game, and she’s got an opera performance at the Boston Center for the Arts coming up at the end of the month.
We talk music, we talk Smash, we talk cookies, we talk Bloodborne!
Be sure to stick around after the interview to hear a track from Arkhangel: The House of the Seven Stars, composed by Chad Seiter & Laura Intravia.
Video Games Live kicked off its 14-show, 12-city Canadian tour in Winnipeg, MB on Monday. At the show, I got a chance to speak to VGL creator and performer (and industry icon) Tommy Tallarico. Have a listen, and find out why Mr. Tallarico thinks Beethoven would be a video game composer if he were alive today.
The video includes: the orchestra, led by Bryan Deans, playing Metal Gear Solid; Jason Paige singing the Pokemon theme song (with Tommy Tallarico on guitar); Winnipeg’s own SuperFX playing Halo; and … a box?
(By the way, I can’t seem to sing the Pokemon theme song without switching to the Transformers movie theme. “I know it’s my destiny. Pokemon! Oh, you’re my best friend — FROM THE EVIL UNICROOOON!”)
